Just before the unofficial start to the summer on May 25, almost all the MLB teams were in action on the 24th. It was another tough day for the Cubs, who didn’t lose ground to Milwaukee but fell for the eighth straight game. Meanwhile, the Twins picked up another victory in Boston.

Cubs lose again

Yet again, the Cubs lost, as the team was swept by the Houston Astros after an 8-5 loss on May 24.

Christian Walker hit his 14th home run of the season, while Jake Meyers tallied one to start the scoring. Nick Allen, meanwhile, picked up three hits, one of which was his first home run since the 2024 campaign.

Michael Busch & Carson Kelly picked up two hits, while Pedro Ramirez doubled in the second and drove in his first big-league run.

With that loss, the Cubs have now fallen for the eighth straight time. And Chicago won’t get any rest, either, as the team will start a four-game set with the Pirates starting on May 25.

Twins sweep Red Sox

The Twins keep winning, as Minnesota rallied to pick up their fourth straight win after a 6-5 victory in Boston.

Boston took the lead in the fourth after a two-run home run from Willson Contreras, followed by a Marcelo Mayer double. But in the sixth, Austin Martin picked up an RBI double, and Brooks Lee drove in two with a single.

Bailey Ober, despite surrending two home runs, went five and picked up his sixth win of the season.

New York teams & walk-offs

It was a day decided by walk-offs for the two New York teams, although the outcome for both was very different.

Aaron Judge broke a scoreless tie with a two-run home run, giving the Yankees a 2-0 victory. Both Drew Rasmussen and Ryan Weathers tossed seven shutout innings for their respective teams.

As for the Mets, New York (NL) was swept at the hands of the Marlins. Heriberto Hernandez hit a walk-off against the Mets.

Dodgers win series versus Brewers

The Dodgers defeated the Brewers 5-1 to win another series against the team Los Angeles met in the 2025 NLCS.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto only struck out three but limited the Brewers to one run on the day. Kyle Tucker broke a 1-1 tie with a two-run triple in the fifth. Andy Pages hit a two-run shot afterwards to drive in Tucker and himself.
