The Braves’ offense has been a force this season, even with some players on the IL. And that force was on showcase in Boston, as the Braves put up seven to finish a comeback victory against the Red Sox. Plus, the Cubs fell yet again in Pittsburgh.
Braves best Boston
After trailing by two heading into the fifth, the Atlanta Braves scored seven from that inning onward to defeat the Red Sox 7-6.
Spencer Strider settled in after he surrendered home runs to Jarren Duran and Ceddanne Rafaela to begin the game. He struck out five over five and only allowed one run afterwards. That gave the Braves’ offense something to work with,
Matt Olson hit his 15th home run of 2026, while Michael Harris II had four hits, including his 12th home run of the year.
Cubs lose again
The Pirates put up 12 on the Cubs, who have now lost their 10th consecutive game to fall 4.5 games back of the NL Central division lead.
Pittsburgh jumped early on Jordan Wicks. Bryan Reynolds hit a two-run double, Oneil Cruz drove in a run, and Esmerlyn Valdez hit his second home run of 2026 at the MLB level, all in the first.
Spencer Horwitz had two hits, including his sixth home run of the year.
Mariners jump on Jump
It wasn’t a clean debut for Gage Jump, who was summoned to the Majors on May 27.
Jump struck out five over five but gave up nine hits and four earned runs against the Mariners. He was bested by Emerson Hancock, who threw six scoreless innings and lowered his ERA to 2.78.
Seattle picked up 11 total hits in a 4-1 victory.
Dodgers blow out Rockies
The Dodgers blew out the Rockies 15-6.
This game was 15-1 heading into the ninth inning. Colorado scored five and batted around on Miguel Rojas, who came in to save the Dodgers’ bullpen late in a blowout win. And it was a breakthrough game for Mookie Betts, who hit two home runs and drove in five against Colorado.
Eric Lauer struck out four and gave up one run over six innings.
Three on four-game win streaks
Three teams walked into play on May 27 with four-game winning streaks.
The Angels beat the Tigers 10-6. Washington hit Joey Cantillo hard, as the Nationals won 6-3. Thanks to home runs from Adrian Del Castillo & Ketel Marte, plus good pitching from Eduardo Rodriguez, the Diamondbacks beat the Giants 7-5 to win their fourth straight.
