It was a busy day on June 10 for the Atlanta Braves, as the team reshuffled its roster. James Karinchak is back in the Majors, as is Rowdy Tellez, as the two were promoted to Atlanta.

Braves moves

The Braves made a flurry of moves on June 10, aside from placing Ronald Acuna Jr. on the injured list. Carlos Carrasco was DFA’d, as was Jhancarlos Lara. JR Ritchie was recalled, and James Karinchak & Rowdy Tellez were selected from Triple-A Gwinnett.

Tellez has been an MLB mainstay for years. But Karinchak hasn’t seen action in a Major League game since 2023 with the Cleveland Guardians.

A two-pitch pitcher between his mid-90s fastball and curveball, Karinchak was a premier strikeout pitcher between 2020 and 2022. However, walks — he allowed 28 over 39 innings three years ago with the Guardians — led the Guardians to demote him in 2023. He’s since bounced around between the White Sox and Braves organizations.

Lara, a hard-throwing reliever, was first added to the 40-man roster in September 2025 when the Braves promoted him to the Majors. However, Lara never saw action in a Major League contest. He walked 29 over 15.1 IP with Double-A Columbus this season.

Astros acquire infielder from Rays

The Astros acquired infielder Raynel Delgado in a trade with the Tampa Bay Rays. Houston sent cash to complete the trade.

Delgado is a 26-year-old infielder who was a sixth-rounder pick in 2018 but has never played in the Majors. Versatile infielder with Minor League experience at second, short, and third base. He slashed .250/.320/.362 with Triple-A Durham this season.

Recalls & options

Kameron Misner (Royals), Domingo Gonzalez (Mariners), Rafael Flores Jr. (Pirates), Jonathan Pintaro (Mets), Chase Petty (Reds), and Jake Bennett (Red Sox) were recalled.

Alex Gamboa (Red Sox), Joey Gerber (Mets), Zach McCambley (Reds), Tristan Beck (Giants), and Ryan Bliss (Giants) were optioned to Triple-A.

Other notes

Will Brennan (Giants), Connor Seabold (Blue Jays), and Yosver Zulueta (Mariners) were designated for assignment.

The Orioles signed Chadwick Tromp to a Minor League deal.
