On October 8, the Brewers, Dodgers, and Rays all made recalls to bring up pitchers who were not available to be added to the roster for the first two rounds. That doesn’t mean those arms will be on an LCS roster. But the moves do give their clubs added insurance moving forward.

Brewers recall Gordon

The Brewers recalled pitcher Colton Gordon from Triple-A Nashville.

Gordon, who was acquired alongside Lance McCullers Jr. from the Astros in July, made just one appearance with the Brewers in the regular season after he worked in four with Houston. That came on September 22, a day that saw him allow just one earned run over five innings against the Phillies.

Milwaukee optioned Gordon to the Minors back on September 23.

Hurt back up with Dodgers

Los Angeles recalled pitcher Kyle Hurt from Triple-A Oklahoma City. This is the second call-up that the Dodgers made during the postseason, as Emmet Sheehan was previously recalled.

The right-hander saw significantly more rope in the regular season, as Hurt worked in 44 games this season for the Dodgers. He struck out 58 over 45.2 IP during the regular season with Los Angeles. However, he pitched in only three games during September before the Dodgers optioned him at the end of the regular season.

Hurt, like Gordon, was optioned on September 23.

Rays recall Cook

The Rays recalled Alex Cook from Triple-A.

Cook was up-and-down during the second half of 2026, pitching in four games for Tampa Bay during that span. Two of those came against the White Sox, the team that the Rays could face in the ALCS.

He walked two over two innings against Chicago on July 31, not allowing an earned run. But he was hit with three earned runs over 1.2 IP two days later on August 2.
