Some roster moves were made on September 3, with the most notable being waiver claims. Cameron Weston and Brett Harris, two players previously DFA’d by their respective former teams, found new homes.

Mets claim Weston from Orioles

The Mets grabbed Cameron Weston off waivers from the Baltimore Orioles.

The 26-year-old Weston has been a strikeout machine as a reliever this season in the Minors, with 66 strikeouts over 51.1 IP with Triple-A Norfolk. He struck out one over one scoreless inning at the MLB level this season.

He was an Orioles draft pick in 2022 who spent years in the Minors before he was selected to the Baltimore 40-man roster in May.

Weston was optioned to Triple-A Syracuse.

Giants claim Harris

The Giants claimed infielder Brett Harris from the Boston Red Sox.

Harris bounced around this season, as the 29-year-old started the year with the Athletics, was traded in early July to Boston, and then DFA’d on September 1 by the Red Sox before landing back in California. In the Minors this season, he slashed .293/.405/.459 across 71 games down in Triple-A.

Like Weston, Harris was optioned to Triple-A.

Recalls & options

Deyvison De Los Santos (Marlins), Wilber Dotel (Pirates), and Khristian Curtis (Pirates) were recalled from the Minors.

Evan Sisk (Pirates) was optioned to the Minors.

Other notes

The Reds signed former Diamondback Dominic Fletcher to a Minor League deal.

Shawn Ross (Mets) and Leo Jimenez (Marlins) were designated for assignment.

Nolan Kingham (Nationals), Connor Joe (Nationals), and Luis Vazquez (Orioles) were sent outright to Triple-A.
