One of the toolsiest players in the Rangers’ system was called up on June 29, as Cameron Cauley was promoted to the Majors. That was one of several moves made on the day by Texas, as Chris Paddack also joined the big-league roster.

Rangers make moves

The Rangers made some moves on June 29, as the team selected the contract of Cameron Cauley and signed Chris Paddack to a Major League deal.

Cauley, a third-round pick in the 2021 MLB Draft, was a non-roster invite this past spring after what was a decent 2025 campaign in the Minors, despite some swing-and-miss woes. The 23-year-old is coming off a fantastic month in Round Rock, as Cauley slashed .289/.368/.494 with three home runs and nine extra-base hits over 20 contests with Round Rock.

Paddack, meanwhile, will look for a permanent home after stints with the Marlins and Reds this season. The right-hander only struck out 12 batters over 22 innings with the Reds before he was cut earlier this month.

Additionally, Texas designated pitcher Joe Ross and outfielder Jarred Kelenic for assignment.

Recalls & options

Raynel Delgado (Astros), Ryan Ward (Dodgers), Will Wagner (Padres), and Tobias Myers (Mets) were optioned to the Minors.
