It was a relatively light day of moves across Major League Baseball on September 19. But there were some moves, as Oswaldo Cabrera is back in the Majors, TJ Friedl is in the Minors once more, and Trey Mancini is officially retired from the league.

Recalls & options

Reds outfielder TJ Friedl was optioned to Triple-A Louisville. That made room for Oswaldo Cabrera, claimed off waivers earlier in the week and officially activated on September 19.

Zach McCambley (Reds), Spencer Bivens (Royals), Max Schuemann (Yankees), Adam Macko (Rangers), and Logan VanWey (Astros) were recalled from the Minors.

Heston Kjerstad (Orioles), Cade Povich (Orioles), Gabriel Hughes (Rockies), Julian Aguiar (Reds), and Cameron Weston (Mets) were optioned.

Other notes

Jorge Barrosa (Astros) and Vimael Machin (Rockies) were designated for assignment.

Lenyn Sosa (Blue Jays) and Peter Strzelecki (Cardinals) were released.

The Brewers sent Rob Zastryzny outright to Triple-A Nashville. Zastrzyny was designated for assignment earlier in the week.

Additionally, Trey Mancini officially retired as a member of the Orioles on the 19th. He joined Tim Anderson and others who’ve decided to hang it up in 2026.
