Awards season across Major League Baseball arrived in November, even though several of them were handed out in October. After the 2025 season ended, the league announced which players won hardware for individual efforts, including Gold Gloves, Silver Sluggers, as well as the annual winners of the Cy Young and MVP for each league.

MVP Awards

First off, here are the winners of the Most Valuable Player (MVP) Award in each league:

It’s a three-peat for Shohei Ohtani, who won his third consecutive MVP. Ohtani won his second straight NL MVP after winning the 2023 AL MVP in his final season with the Angels. The two-way star led the National League in slugging (.622) and OPS (1.014). He set a career-high in home runs (55), and struck out 62 over 47 innings in his return as a pitcher.

It was Ohtani’s fourth MVP Award.

As for the American League, Aaron Judge squeeked out the win for the AL MVP, beating out Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh. Even though Raleigh broke numerous home run records with his 60-home run campaign, Judge won the AL batting title (.331), belted 53 home runs, and led the Majors in OPS (1.145).

Cy Young Award Winners

Here are the two pitchers who won the Cy Young Award, given to the pitcher considered the best in their respective league:

Tarik Skubal became the first repeat Cy Young winner in the American League since 2000 when Pedro Martinez accomplised the feat. The 28-year-old led the American League in ERA (2.21) and struck out 241 batters this season for the Tigers. He also led the Majors in WHIP (.89) and BB/9 (1.5).

Paul Skenes won more hardware in 2025, earning himself his first Cy Young after winning the Rookie of the Year in 2024. Skenes led the Majors with a 1.97 ERA, finished second in the Majors in bWAR (7.7) among pitchers, and struck out 216 batters.

Manager of the Year Award Winners

These were the winners of the Manager of the Year Awards:

It’s a repeat from 2024. Guardians manager Stephen Vogt won the AL Manager of the Year award for the second straight year. Cleveland overcame a 10.5-game deficit in September, moving from third in the AL Central to first by the end of the regular season.

Pat Murphy won the award for the second straight season after he helped lead the team to its third consecutive NL Central title. The 2025 campaign saw the Brewers win a franchise record 97 games and make the NLCS for the first time since 2018.

Rookie of the Year Award Winners

Here are the winners of the Rookie of the Year Awards for 2025:

Kurtz won the AL Rookie of the Year Award unanimously after he led all rookies in total home runs (36), RBI (86), and OPS (1.002). The first baseman is the first Athletic to win the Rookie of the Year since 2009 (Andrew Bailey) and the first non-reliever Athletic to receive it since 2004 (Bobby Crosby).

The National League Rookie of the Year winner was Braves catcher Drake Baldwin. Baldwin slashed .274/.341/.469 (.810 OPS) with 19 home runs and 39 extra-base hits, as well as 80 RBI. He became the second Brave in four seasons to win the NL Rookie of the Year, as Michael Harris II won it in 2022.

Reliever of the Year Award Winners

The winners of the Reliever of the Year Awards are as follows:

What a year it was for Aroldis Chapman. The veteran left-hander struck out 85 over 61 innings for the Red Sox this season. Chapman notched 32 saves and looked just as good as he did a decade ago.

Edwin Diaz, meanwhile, took home yet another NL Reliever of the Year Award. Diaz struck out 98 over 66.1 IP for the Mets this season. The 31-year-old picked up 28 saves and posted a 1.63 ERA, the second time in four seasons Diaz had a sub-2.00 ERA.

Silver Slugger Award Winners

These are the announced Silver Slugger Award winners:

American League

Cal Raleigh turned his record-setting 2025 season into his first AL Silver Slugger award.

Raleigh was one of several first-time winners. Rookie Nick Kurtz, along with Byron Buxton, Riley Greene, and Zach McKinstry all won their first Silver Slugger.

National League

All three Diamondbacks who were named finalists won a Silver Slugger. Arizona dominated the middle infield, as Geraldo Perdomo (1st) and Ketel Marte (2nd) both won one at their respective position. Corbin Carroll won one of the three outfield Silver Sluggers, giving the D-Backs an NL-most three winners.

Free agents Pete Alonso and Kyle Tucker both won a Silver Slugger. Alonso was one of two Mets to win. Juan Soto won his sixth Silver Slugger, and his first as a Met.

The Dodgers, winners of the 2025 World Series, won the team Silver Slugger award.

Gold Glove Award Winners

Here are the Gold Glove winners for the American & National Leagues:

American League

The Royals had two 2025 Gold Glovers on the left side of the infield. Maikel Garcia won his first, while Bobby Witt Jr. earned his second Gold Glove Award. Witt Jr. won his first in 2024.

Boston, meanwhile, had two Gold Glovers in their outfield. Ceddanne Rafaela won the center field one, while Wilyer Abreu was the right field recipient.

Max Fried won his fourth Gold Glove in his first season with the Yankees. His first three came as an Atlanta Brave.

Steven Kwan continued his Gold Glove streak. Kwan won his fourth straight, dating back to his rookie season in 2022.

As for the reigning American League champions, the Blue Jays had six Gold Glove nominations. However, only one Blue Jay won an award, and it was Ty France. France spent the last two months of the year with Toronto after spending most of the year with the Twins.

Ernie Clement, nominated for two (3B and Utility), did not win one.

National League

Patrick Bailey, Nico Hoerner, and Ke’Bryan Hayes became two-time Gold Glove Award winners. Masyn Winn, meanwhile, won his first Gold Glove in 2025.

The Giants had two winners, while the Cubs had three.

Platinum Glove Awards

The Platinum Glove Award is given out to the one player in each league considered the best overall defender. The winners for the AL & NL are as follows:

  • American League: Bobby Witt Jr. (Royals)
  • National League: Fernando Tatis Jr. (Padres)

This is Tatis Jr.’s second Platinum Glove Award, while it’s the first for Witt Jr.

Comeback Player of the Year Awards

These were the American League and National League Comeback Player of the Year winners:

Jacob deGrom missed all of 2024 recovering from Tommy John surgery. The former Cy Young winner returned with a vengeance in 2025, as he struck out 185 over 172.2 IP. It was the most innings that deGrom threw in a season since 2019.

Acuna Jr., meanwhile, suffered the second season-ending knee injury in the last five seasons back in 2024. While Acuna Jr. started the year on the IL, he wound up hitting 21 home runs and a .935 OPS over 95 games this past year.

Playoff Awards

Here are the winners of the three major awards handed out in the postseason, aside from the Commissioner’s Trophy:

Guerrero Jr. helped power the Blue Jays to the World Series. He finished the ALCS tied for first among players in the final four in total hits (10). The veteran slugger hit .385 with three home runs against the Mariners.

Ohtani had a NLCS to remember. The two-way star batted .357 with three home runs. All of his home runs came in Game 4 of the NLCS. He also struck out 10 over six shutout innings against the Brewers.

Yamamoto won the World Series MVP after he went 3-0 with a 1.02 ERA and 15 strikeouts over 17.2 IP.

Hank Aaron Awards

These were the winners of the Hank Aaron Award in each league, given to the player deemed the best offensive performer in one’s respective league:

  • American League: Aaron Judge (Yankees)
  • National League: Shohei Ohtani (Dodgers)

The MVP winners also took home the Hank Aaron Award for their respective league.

A committee vote, coupled with fan voting, decided the winners of the Hank Aaron Award for each league.

Roberto Clemente Award Winner

Dodgers infielder Mookie Betts won the 2025 Roberto Clemente Award.

The award, named after the Baseball Hall of Famer and humanitarian Roberto Clemente, is given to the Major League player who “best represents the game” in terms of positive contributions, community givebacks, both on and off the field.

Here are the players named to the All-MLB Teams in 2025:
