Status of Sets and Seasons in MLB The Show 24
Yes, Sets and Seasons will be in MLB The Show 24 Diamond Dynasty. This was confirmed by Sony San Diego on February 29, 2024, via a developer blog post.
For MLB The Show 24, these cards will be called Season cards, i.e. Season 1, etc. And, Seasons will work differently.
How Sets and Seasons work in MLB The Show 24
This year, Seasons will run every 12 weeks in Diamond Dynasty, as opposed to the 6-8 weeks that a new one would begin in MLB The Show 23.
Now in MLB The Show 23, virtually all of the cards added in each season were in the 97-99 OVR range. For MLB The Show 24 Diamond Dynasty, this will not be the case.
At the start of Season 1, most of the highest-rated Diamonds in circulation will be at 91 OVR. Additional content drops will raise the bar to the high 90s.
Also, Seasons will function differently. Last year, Set-based cards would overlap between seasons. For example, Set 1 cards were eligible for Set and Season 2 but could not be used in Set 3 without a Wild Card.
For MLB The Show 24, cards will not overlap. This means Season 1 cards can’t be used in Season 2 without a Wild Card.
Core cards will return for MLB The Show 24. These items can be used throughout the year and are not affected by any change in Sets.
