The sixth week of the 2024 NCAA college baseball season came to an unofficial end on March 25 but much of the action concluded on the 24th. It was a wild weekend, one that saw several ranked opponents face each other, highlighted by a Florida/LSU showdown in Baton Rouge. But this time around, the Gators came out on top. Here’s a look at how the rankings in the 2024 college baseball season shake out after Week 6.

Caglianone Starred in Week 6

Week 6 was an electric one for Jac Caglianone, who’s continuing to make a strong case to be selected in the top five of the 2024 MLB Draft. The two-way star hit two home runs in Florida’s series victory over LSU, who the Gators met for the first time since the College World Series final last June.

Caglianone also struck out five over seven frames on the 24th to earn the deciding victory. That series victory pushed the Gators up two spots to #6 in the USA Today/Coaches poll, ahead of LSU.

Dallas Baptist Continues to Shine

The Dallas Baptist Patriots keep on rolling, as the team from North Texas won two of three this past weekend from C-USA rival Sam Houston State. The Patriots are now 19-4 on the season and moved up to #10 on the year, a six-position rise from the previous week.

Junior phenom Ryan Johnson once again stole the show, as the power righty struck out 15 in a complete-game victory on March 22. Johnson now has 64 strikeouts on the season, third best in Division I and behind only Chase Burns (Wake Forest) and Riley Huge (Winthrop).
