The MLB The Show 25 team revealed two new legends during the game’s reveal trailer. Roger Clemens and Manny Ramirez will be in the game but who else will join them? On March 11, the Sony San Diego confirmed the list of new playable legends, headlined by several Hall of Famers.
One of the headliners among the list of new legends is the “Hebrew Hammer,” Hank Greenberg. The Tigers icon had a .313 career batting average, a 58-home run season in 1938, and two MVP and World Series titles.
Greenberg’s career numbers likely would have better had he not served in the military during World War II.
Ted Williams is also an addition, albeit a returning legend. The Red Sox legend was in MLB The Show during parts of the PS4 era of the franchise.
Greenberg and Williams are among the notable Hall of Famers who are either in the game for the first time, or are coming back. Between past reveals and the new legends trailer, Ted Simmons, Steve Carlton, Gil Hodges, Jim Kaat, and Dave Parker will be in MLB The Show 25. Parker was in past MLB The Show games, with his last appearance coming in 2023.
The “Cobra” will be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in July 2025.
The list also includes notable starts of the game who shined during the 2000s and 2010s. Former Rockies ace Ubaldo Jimenez and longtime outfielder Bobby Abreu headline a list that includes Chase Headley, Jason Kipnis, Jason Varitek, Lance Berkman, Clay Buchholz, Darren O’Day, Jose Bautista, Preston Wilson, Jordan Zimmerman, and Reggie Sanders.
Many of the above players were in past MLB The Show games as active players.
There will, however, also be stars from the 1970s and 1980s in the game for the first time. Bobby Grich and Don Baylor, along with Terry Pendleton and Mark Davis, will also be in the game as playable legends.
Aside from these names, the MLB The Show 25 team confirmed six new Negro Leagues legends will be included.
