Most sports games franchises, right now, are available on the PC platform. That, however, has never been the case for MLB The Show. No title for the franchise has ever been released for desktops and laptops — but will that change in 2025? Based on information released in late January, baseball fans received confirmation on whether MLB The Show 25 is coming to PC.

Status of MLB The Show 25 on PC

No, MLB The Show 25 will not be available on PC.

This shouldn’t come as a surprise, given Sony has never released the game to become available on the PC platform. However, there was one trick to play The Show on a desktop or laptop: Xbox Game Pass.

Since MLB The Show 24 was available on Xbox Game Pass, anyone with it had the option to stream the game on PC, without actually having to buy it. Granted, it wouldn’t be the smoothest to play because of how cloud gaming and streaming works. However, it was effective.

That, however, won’t be an option come 2025. Sony San Diego confirmed in January that MLB The Show 25 would not be made available on any gaming subscription platform this year. So, the only way to play the game is buy it for one of the consoles it will be available on.

Sony stated MLB The Show 25 will be available on the Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and the Nintendo Switch. Those three are the current-gen consoles, for now, until the Switch 2 comes out in the near future.

An old-gen version for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 will not be released.

That is one of several changes for the franchise already confirmed by SDS. Make sure to check out our MLB The Show 25 hub, which details the information we know about the game so far.
