How to save on a MLB.TV subscription for 2023

Baseball is back, and so is MLB.TV. Major League Baseball’s online streaming service for out-of-town baseball games has returned, but with a price increase. MLB.TV now costs $150 for the entire 2023 season, with those who purchase subject to receive all eligible MLB games that will be shown on the platform, plus full access to MiLB.TV. If you’re looking to save money on a MLB.TV subscription, we can help. Here’s a couple of tips to keep in mind.

One way that baseball fans can save on MLB.TV is through donating to the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association (MLBPAA). There are different membership tiers for donating to the MLBPAA: a $25 tier, a $70 tier, and a $120 tier. Each tier offers different benefits, but all three also come with a 50% discount for MLB.TV. Thus, a $25 donation will be suffice.

Upon a donation, individuals will receive an e-mail — usually within a couple of hours, but that time frame could fluctuate — with a link. The link, a one-time deal that can be redeemed by clicking it, will yield the 50% discount. This would cut the price down to about $75. Take into account the $25 donation, and that will save fans $50 for the entire season of games.

In addition to the MLBPAA discount, keep an eye out for college student and military discounts. At the sign-up page for MLB.TV, individuals who fall into those two groups can receive a 35% discount. However, you’ll need either an account with ID.me (college) or a GOVX ID.

You could wait on buying, but…

T-Mobile subscribers have traditionally received the opportunity to receive a free subscription to MLB.TV, by way of the mobile provider’s sponsorship deal with Major League Baseball. This offer has been redeemable through the T-Mobile Tuesdays app.

This will be the case again in 2023. Here is how T-Mobile subscribers can take advantage of the offer this year.

Alternatively, one could wait until later into the regular season. Throughout the regular season, MLB will offer special discounts and lowered prices. Examples from last year include a special Father’s Day discount, and a free MLB.TV for college students during the last month of the season. This will mean you will lose out on games, but it also means not paying the full price.
