Spring Training has arrived and so has the ability to purchase a subscription for MLB.TV. For those unaware, MLB.TV is Major League Baseball’s official app to stream out-of-market baseball games from across the league. But, can baseball fans save on the subscription price for MLB.TV? Yes, and here’s a look at how that can be done.
Updated on August 25, 2025.
What is the cost of MLB.TV in 2025?
As of August 2025, MLB lists an yearly subscription for MLB.TV at $69.99. It’s discounted from $149.99, where it was at the beginning of the season.
This package includes live Spring Training & regular season broadcasts, archived games from past seasons, plus MLB Network, MLB Big Inning, documentaries, and offseason content.
The price for a full-season package did not change from 2024, when it was also $149.99.
A monthly subscription has cost $29.99 in past years and does again in 2025.
There’s also now an option to purchase MLB Network for $5.99 a month, or $6.99 for At-Bat, the MLB’s mobile app. Baseball fans can listen to games with At-Bat, without an MLB.TV subscription.
But as noted earlier, MLB Network comes included with an MLB.TV subscription.
Lastly, several teams have in-packages available to purchase, which include in-market local games. These packages costs vary by team and include the following teams:
- Athletics
- Diamondbacks
- Dodgers
- Giants
- Guardians
- Mets
- Nationals
- Orioles
- Padres
- Phillies
- Rockies
- Twins
How to stream the app
MLB.TV is available to be streamed on Xbox and PlayStation gaming platforms, as well as Google Chromecast, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Samsung and Android TVs, as well as iOS and Android mobile devices.
Those who have purchased MLB.TV do not need to purchase At-Bat for mobile, as it comes with the package.
What is MLB.TV?
MLB.TV is Major League Baseball’s official streaming arm for out-of-market games. This means that games not shown on a local regional sports network or local over-the-air station (i.e. games from teams not in one’s market) can be viewed on MLB.TV subscription.
The package also includes nationally televised games on Fox not available on local TV. However, nationally televised games on ESPN, as well as postseason contests, can’t be viewed on MLB.TV without validation of a cable or satellite subscription.
Apple TV+ games are unavailable on MLB.TV in the United States or Canada.
What are some ways to save on an MLB.TV subscription?

Here are some ways to save on an MLB.TV subscription:
- MLBPAA Membership
- T-Life App (Available for T-Mobile subscribers)
- Student and/or Military discounts
One way to save is to join the Major League Players Alumni Association. MLBPAA members received a 50% discount for MLB.TV for the 2024 campaign, and the PAA has run this promotion in previous years, as well.
There are three tiers of membership to the MLBPAA, the Home Run Fan ($25 annually), the Grand Slam Fan ($95 annually, up from $70), and the All-Star Fan ($150 annually, up from $120). All three guarantee the discount.
However, there is now a twist for the MLBPAA discount. One must be a renewing member of the association in order to get the discount. Make sure to renew with the same information, for those who’ve previously donated to the PAA.
Those who opt for one of the three tiers should receive an e-mail with an MLB.TV discount link around a day afterward, or March 2025 for those who did before then.
T-Mobile Magenta subscribers, on the other hand, have received free MLB.TV subscriptions for years and that will continue in 2025. T-Mobile and MLB renewed their partnership in 2023, one that will see customers of T-Mobile receive a free MLB.TV subscription through 2028.
The offer comes via the T-Life App (formerly T-Mobile Tuesdays). MLB and T-Mobile confirmed this offer will be available between March 25-31, 2025.
Lastly, be on the lookout for student and/or military discounts. In 2023, military members received a 35% discount for MLB.TV via GovX.
Students, on the other hand, have also received special offers, including 35% off. For example, MLB.TV was made free for returning college students over the last month of the 2024 campaign provided one authenticated their student credentials.
MLB.TV is a great option to watch games from the past few seasons. However, those who want to watch classic games from the not-so-immediate past might want to check out our guide on how to find archived MLB games.
