As in 2023 and 2024, several notable stars from Japan are now stateside and will make their MLB debuts in 2025. Among those names are now-Dodgers pitcher Roki Sasaki, plus Shinnosuke Ogasawara (Nationals) and Tomoyuki Sugano (Orioles). However, not all of these players were in the game at launch.
Is Tomoyuki Sugano in MLB The Show 25?
As of launch, Orioles pitcher Tomoyuki Sugano is not in MLB The Show 25.
Sugano signed with the Orioles this winter after a lengthy stint with the Yomiuri Giants of the NPB.
Is Shinnosuke Ogasawara in MLB The Show 25?
As of launch, Nationals pitcher Shinnosuke Ogasawara is not in MLB The Show 25.
Ogasawara came over to the United States after he pitched for Chunichi in the NPB.
When will Ogasawara & Sugano be added?
Presumably, that will happen after the two make their MLB debuts.
Generally speaking, foreign pros who were not previously in the MLB have to wait until after their debut to be added into the game. However, there are two exceptions to this rule in 2025.
Are Roki Sasaki and Hye- seong Kim in MLB The Show 25?
Yes, both Roki Sasaki and Hye-seong Kim are in MLB The Show 25.
It’s somewhat of a contrast to 2024, when notable foreign pros like Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Shota Imanaga, and Jung-hoo Lee were not in at launch. Those three were added once the three made their respective MLB debuts.
Both Kim and Sasaki are in the game’s single-player rosters and Diamond Dynasty.
Who else isn’t in the game?
Amateur baseball players in high school and college who will be drafted in 2025 are not in the game at launch, as their rights are not available to be used.
However, players drafted in past years have been added to the game as part of midseason updates.
