A new year of MLB The Show is upon, as MLB The Show 24 launched for early access on March 15. One would expect Sony San Diego to reflect the changes that teams made throughout the winter but a couple of notable names are missing from the game’s rosters. One such player that falls into that category in MLB The Show 24 is new Dodgers pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto.

Status of Yoshinobu Yamamoto in MLB The Show 24

As of March 22, 2024, Dodgers pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto is in MLB The Show 24.

Yamamoto was added to MLB The Show 24 after he made his MLB debut during the Seoul Series. The Japanese pitcher, though, was not in the game during the first week of the game’s life cycle.

This might have confused some who played in MLB The Show 23, as Yamamoto — who had yet to pitch in the Majors before 2023 — was in the game. This was because Sony San Diego agreed to put World Baseball Classic jerseys, logos, and players in the game. Yamamoto pitched for Team Japan in the 2023 WBC.

However, that was last year and this is this year.

Traditionally, MLB players who have come over from a pro league in Korea and Japan like the NPB or KBO have to play at least one game in the Majors to be eligible to be added. This was the case in MLB The Show 23 when Masataka Yoshida and Kodai Senga were not on their team’s roster.
