Gone are the days of cookie-cutter stadiums. Nowadays, Major League Baseball venues come in all shapes & sizes, as well as different capacities. Here’s a look at the ones that can hold the most and the least.
Which MLB stadium holds the most people?
That would be Dodger Stadium, home of the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Los Angeles’ home park can hold over 8,000 more than the team behind that venue, which would be Chase Field in Arizona. And in fact, the top four stadiums as far as capacity is concerned are out in the western part of the United States.
Here’s the top five:
| Rank | Stadium | Capacity |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Dodger Stadium | 56,000 |
| 2 | Chase Field | 48,633 |
| 3 | T-Mobile Park | 47.943 |
| 4 | Coors Field | 46.891 |
| 5 | Yankee Stadium | 46,537 |
Which stadium holds the fewest?
Sutter Health Park, home of the Athletics.
This is only temporary. The Athletics currently play in West Sacramento, California, home of the Sacramento River Cats, the Triple-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants.
As far as traditional home venues, Tropicana Field typically holds 25,000. However, it does have the capacity for significantly more; it’s just rarely used.
| Rank | Stadium | Capacity |
|---|---|---|
| 30 | Sutter Health Park | 14,014 |
| 29 | Tropicana Field | 25,000 |
| 28 | Progressive Field | 34,820 |
| 27 | loanDepot Park | 37,446 |
| 26 | Kauffman Stadium | 37,903 |
