Now that another regular season is in the books, it’s time for some audits. Strikeouts have become far more common in today’s era of Major League Baseball. And just like in 2025, some familiar teams led the league in that category this past season.
Most Team Strikeouts in 2026
| Rank | Team | Strikeouts |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Angels | 1,550 |
| 2 | Reds | 1,544 |
| 3 | Orioles | 1,518 |
| 4 | Pirates | 1,505 |
| 5 | White Sox | 1,494 |
Just like in 2025, the Angels’ offense had the most strikeouts in 2026.
Zach Neto and Mike Trout played a big role in that. Neto, who had a 30.5% K% during the regular season, had the third-most strikeouts in the regular season with 215. The only two hitters with more were Kyle Schwarber (220) and Colson Montgomery (227).
Mike Trout, meanwhile, had 165.
The Angels also had the highest team Whiff% this past season at 28.1%. Right behind the club was the White Sox, at 27.5%. Chicago (AL) had the two hitters with the highest K% in MLB: Colson Montgomery and Munetaka Murakami.
Montgomery was not only the single-season strikeout leader for 2026. His 227 strikeouts also set a league record for most in one season.
The Reds had the second-most in the Majors this season, thanks in large part to Elly De La Cruz and Eugenio Suarez. De La Cruz had 175, while Suarez recorded 169. Those two were two of the 20 highest figures in baseball this season.
Thanks to Oneil Cruz and newcomer Brandon Lowe, the Pirates were back in the top five for 2026.
Fewest Team Strikeouts in 2026
| Stat | Team | Strikeouts |
|---|---|---|
| 30 | Rays | 1,145 |
| 29 | Blue Jays | 1,149 |
| 28 | Diamondbacks | 1,195 |
| 27 | Dodgers | 1,267 |
| 26 | Guardians | 1,271 |
For those looking at strikeout percentage among players, none of the five teams listed above should actually be a shock.
Chandler Simpson, Ernie Clement, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Steven Kwan, Liam Hicks, Mookie Betts, Ildemaro Vargas, and Geraldo Perdomo were eight players among the top 20 lowest strikeout percentages in the league.
