Depending on how one felt about its existence, created players in MLB The Show were either a blessing or a curse. Still, CAPs were nonetheless a tool that could be used by free-to-play game owners to get an edge in Diamond Dynasty. But, will a created player (CAP) be eligible for MLB The Show 24 Diamond Dynasty, much like in past years? Well, let’s just say things will be different for 2024.

Status of Created Players in Diamond Dynasty

No, created players, known as a CAP or Ballplayers, will not be eligible for MLB The Show 24 Diamond Dynasty. This was confirmed during a developer live stream on March 7.

This is a change for MLB The Show 24 and Diamond Dynasty as a whole, as CAPs have been a staple of the franchise in recent years. Matter of fact, the existence of created players gave MLB The Show players the opportunity to add a free 99 OVR to Diamond Dynasty, just for grinding.

From there, all that had to be done was find the corresponding 65 OVR CAP card — which wasn’t reflective of the player stats — in the collection and it was eligible to be used.

With the introduction of Sets in MLB The Show 23, the importance of CAPs went away. Power creep is set to return for MLB The Show 24 but created players won’t be an option for those interested.
