Even though MLB The Show 24 has reached endgame status, there’s still new Diamond Dynasty content being released. The MLB The Show 24 Captain Blizzard event included three drops of 99 OVR Captain Cards. Among the new cards released including 99 OVR Captain cards for shortstops Carlos Correa and Jeremy Pena, plus Tim Salmon and Lou Brock.

The one Diamond Dynasty players might struggle with is the Puerto Rico-born players. Players like 99 OVR Javier Baez (Halloweek), 99 OVR Francisco Lindor (Postseason/NLCS), 99 OVR Enrique Hernandez (Postseason/NLDS), and 99 OVR Delgado & 99 OVR Orlando Cepeda from S2 would work towards this program.
And for those looking to maximize efficiency, 95 OVR Carlos Correa & 95 OVR Jose Miranda (Twins), and Correa’s 89 OVR from Season 1(Astros) work, as well.
Interestingly enough, there is a similar Mission in the Roberto Clemente Day Program, which requires players to get 21 extra-base hits with players born in Puerto Rico.
Those who have unlocked 99 OVR Clemente can use him for this Mission. Or, one could try to double up and get extra-base hits that would count towards both, for those who haven’t unlocked 99 OVR Clemente.

For those who are unsure about the Negro League missions, here’s a quick brief.
Pitchers like Hilton Smith, John Donaldson, Rube Foster, Jose Mendez, Bill Foster, Andy Cooper, and Leon Day work. And, anyone can use the 85 OVR Core cards found in Storylines, or additional cards, like the 90 OVR Barrier Breakers or 99 OVR Jin Kim, to make this work.
For the hitters, Jackie Robinson, Buck Leonard, Martin Dihigo, Josh Gibson, Larry Doby, Willie Mays, and Buck O’Neil are options. Remember, take note of the fact that it states players who’ve played in the Negro Leagues are options here. One doesn’t need a specific card, so long as that criteria is met.

The one that Diamond Dynasty players might struggle with is the California-born challenge.
Notable California-born players include Freddie Freeman, Christian Yelich, Tommy Edman, Giancarlo Stanton, Jake Bauers, Kyle Higashioka, Carson Williams, Kevin Pillar, Aaron Judge, and Jarren Duran. All of those players mentioned have 99 OVR cards that were released in Seasons 2-4.

As for the Venezuela mission, notable players born in the country include Ronald Acuna Jr.. Luiz Arraez, William Contreras, Anthony Santander, Jose Altuve, Ezequiel Tovar, Gleyber Torres as well as Jackson Chourio.
Nearly all of the names listed above have 99 OVR cards. Arraez is in the Milestone Program, while Acuna Jr. is the big reward in the Extreme Program. Chourio and Torres have Postseason cards, while Contreras, Santander, and Tovar have 2024 Finest cards.

As for players from the Domician Republic, Jose Ramirez, Ketel Marte, Carlos Santana, Vladimir Guererro Sr., Fernando Tatis Jr., Sandy Alcantara, Pedro Martinez, Luis Severino, and Luis Castillo are among players who have 99 OVR cards in Diamond Dynasty and work towards those Missions.
Will new Captain Blizzard drops occur?
As of this writing, no. The January 21 drop was the last one in the series.
The first took place on December 3. The second took a week later, on December 10, while the third was on December 17. The fourth, the last before Christmas, dropped on December 20.
Sony San Diego resumed drops on January 7, 2025, with the fifth drop. The sixth one was on January 14.
