Sony San Diego has gotten creative when it comes to April Fools’ Day. The MLB The Show team’s rewarded players with Mario Mendoza & Tony Tarasco in past years. But for MLB The Show 25, this year’s joke comes by way of the Common Courtesy Program. The new program includes three Hall of Famers and a legendary left-hander — as Commons. But, there are much better rewards at the end.

Common Courtesy Program reward path

Here’s a look at the Common Courtesy Program reward path in MLB The Show 25:

  • 5 Points: 1,000 XP
  • 10 Points: 64 OVR Veteran Richie Ashburn
  • 15 Points: MLB The Show 25 pack
  • 20 Points: 250 Stubs
  • 25 Points: 2,000 XP
  • 30 Points: 64 OVR Veteran Vida Blue
  • 35 Points: MLB The Show 25 pack
  • 40 Points: 250 Stubs
  • 45 Points: 3,000 XP
  • 50 Points: 64 OVR Last Ride Joe Morgan
  • 55 Points: MLB The Show 25 pack
  • 60 Points: 4,000 XP
  • 64 Points: 64 OVR Last Ride and 10,000 XP
  • 1,000 Points: ‘Nice Try Ramone’ Stadium Sound

This program wasn’t designed to reward players with anything special — at least not initially. Although, the four cards will be necessary for the soon-to-be-released “big” Collection.

But on April 2, Sony San Diego completed the program by adding four Diamond equivalents:

Richie Ashburn

Vida Blue

Joe Morgan

Stan Musial

The final reward is an 88 OVR Stan Musial. This program will not expire.

How to make progress

Much like traditional Programs, one must complete tasks to get this done. Here’s a look at the tasks for the Common Courtesy Program:

  • Complete four Moments (16 pts. – 4 pts. each)
  • PXP Missions:
    • Tally 500 PXP with players who have 64 OVR or lower (5 pts.) (REPEATABLE)
    • Tally 64 PXP with 64 OVR Ashburn (5 pts.)
    • Tally 64 PXP with 64 OVR Blue (5 pts.)
    • Tally 64 PXP with 64 OVR Morgan (5 pts.)
  • Stat Missions:
    • Strike out 15 times with primary center fielders (4 pts.)
    • Give up 20 hits with primary starting pitchers (4 pts.)
    • Make three fielding errors with primary second basemen (4 pts.)
    • Strike out 15 times with Cubs hitters (4 pts.)
    • Give up 10 runs with Royals pitchers (4 pts.)
    • Get caught stealing five times with Athletics hitters (4 pts.)
    • Strike out 15 times with Cardinals hitters (4 pts.)
  • April Fools Collection (Get all four cards from program – 1 pt.) (Expired on April 2)
  • Complete the entire Common Courtesy Program Collection (936 pts.)

The PXP and Stat Missions can be done in any single-player or online mode. However, because it measures futility, don’t do this in Ranked Seasons or Battle Royale.

The Moments will likely be the most confusing part of this. That’s because the progress states one thing but the actual description states something completely different. Here’s what you actually have to do:

  • Ashburn: Get caught stealing
  • Blue: Give up four runs without recording three outs (hint: use intentional walks)
  • Morgan: Strike out twice
  • Musial: Make four outs sans reaching base safely

Lastly, the Collection rewards players with a free Deluxe mystery pack. However, all four cards must be claimed by April 2 at 12 PM PT to get it.

Now, you don’t have to do the repetable Mission again and again to finish. Instead, look down on the program tasks to find the ‘Complete the Program Here!’ Collection. Here are the rewards for the Collection:

  • 1 Card: 85 OVR Richie Ashburn
  • 2 Cards: 86 OVR Vida Blue
  • 3 Cards: 86 OVR Joe Morgan
  • 4 Cards: 88 OVR Stan Musial and 936 Star Points
