On March 26, the MLB The Show 25 team dropped the New Threads Program & Series. This Series of cards highlights players who are in new places in 2025. It also means stars like Alex Bregman, Anthony Santander, and Max Scherzer, among others, all have new Diamonds in The Show. Here’s a look at the New Threads content.

New Threads Program Path

To get the 88 OVR Max Scherzer in MLB The Show 25, one will need 100 Star Points in the New Threads Program. Here’s a look at the program path:

While there is an option to bypass the grind with the pack cards, this program can easily be done by grinding. But for those who are interested, here’s the list of 86 OVR and 88 OVR cards needed for those:

Sixty Star Points can be earned through Moments. However, my advice would to only do a handful of Moments. Nine of them have four points attached, so those are worth a look.

Then, once the Gold New Threads cards are unlocked, mix and match between those are the optional PXP Missions. Live Series cards, plus Flashbacks, will work for those. Examples include the 87 OVR Topps Now Crochet or the Silver Juan Soto from Diamond Quest.

New Threads Collection

Lastly, there are three cards obtainable through a Collection. Go to ‘Collections,’ then ‘Legends & Flashbacks’ to find the New Threads Collection.

Ten New Threads cards are needed for the Bregman. Twenty for Chapman, and 28 for Santander. Additional New Threads can be acquired from the Marketplace and Diamond Quest.
