Individuals who purchased the MLB The Show 25 Digital Deluxe Edition via pre-order or buying it outright after launch can receive two 85 OVR Choice Packs. Each comes with a mix of position players and pitchers. Here’s a look at recommendations for each of the two pre-order bonus packs in MLB The Show 25.
20th Anniversary Choice Pack
Here’s a look at the five cards in the 20th Anniversary Pack in MLB The Show 25:
Vladimir Guerrero

Clayton Kershaw

Joe Mauer

Ted Williams

David Wright

The Mauer and Wright cards have low Power attributes. Wright’s 75 Power vs. LHP is more doable but nonetheless, avoidable. As for Kershaw, he’s the lone starter of this Choice Pack and does possess a “meta” pitch mix. But, his delivery out of the stretch can be tough to work with.
Which leaves Guerrero and returning legend Ted Williams.
Guerrero is the most balanced of the five. His card has good overall hitting attributes and better defensive stats than Williams. Williams, meanwhile, has the slight edge in hitting thanks to the contact/power mix and high Vision.
If you want to use the new legend, go for Ted Williams. However, Guerrero is the best value here.
Legend Choice Pack
And for the Legend Choice Pack:
Hank Greenberg

Derek Jeter

Nolan Ryan

Sammy Sosa

Billy Wagner

Do not take Nolan Ryan. Ryan’s card is for his age-46 season, taking Outlier out of the equation. And because the “Express” doesn’t have a slider or cutter, there’s not enough there to use him online (single-player, of course, Ryan should be just fine).
Jeter doesn’t have much power. Wagner’s H/9 is low and, because he’s a reliever, can also be used on a circumstantial basis.
More value would be provided by Greenberg or Sosa. Personally, take Greenberg. Sosa has slightly better attributes. However, Greenberg is a new legend, and Sosa’s stance and swing can be tough to get used to, especially when facing right-handers with sinkers.
