Royce Lewis found himself back in Triple-A after a difficult run this year. However, the veteran Major League third baseman hit well in St. Paul this week as he looks to climb his way back in Minneapolis. Meanwhile, an up-and-coming prospect in the Red Sox system had another fantastic week in Double-A.

Lewis back in a groove

So far, so good for Twins third baseman Royce Lewis back in Triple-A.

The former first-overall pick was in a three-way tie for first in the International League with four home runs this past week, part of a six-hit week for Lewis. Yanquiel Fernandez (Yankees) and Abimelec Ortiz (Nationals) were part of that tie.

Lewis, once one of the brightest stars in the organization, was optioned to Triple-A last week after what was a very difficult start to 2026.

Prospects looking to get back to the Majors

Red Sox pitcher Jake Bennett made it to the Majors for the first time this year but it wasn’t a long stay. Bennett struck out 11 over five innings and allowed only one earned run over his lone start.

Jonathan Cannon of the White Sox walked seven over 10.1 IP but struck out 10 and earned a win for Triple-A Charlotte.

Arias doesn’t stop

With all of the graduations in the Red Sox’s farm system over the last year, Franklin Arias is making the case to be not just the best prospect in the system but also a key piece of the team’s future.

Arias finished the week tied for the Eastern League lead in hits (9), as well as part of a four-way tie for second in home runs (3). He’s now fourth in the EL in home runs (11), already a career high.

With that week, Arias ended with a .346 batting average in the Eastern League, second-best in the circuit. Remarkably, he’s not even close to the league lead, as Giants prospect Jonah Cox entered the day on May 25 with a .418 average.
