MLB Spring Breakout explained
Per Major League Baseball, the MLB Spring Breakout will be a special event during Spring Training that will pit some of the game’s biggest prospects against one another in Florida and Arizona.
The league announced that the inaugural event will take place from March 14-17, 2024 in what is a “new opportunity to showcase the future stars of the game as they continue on their journey to the Major Leagues,” per MLB chief operations and strategy officer Chris Marinak.
Each of the 30 MLB teams will construct a roster of 20-25 players, many of whom are expected some of the best young stars from each team.
Most teams will play just one seven-inning game. However, the Cardinals and Reds will play two, to accommodate the odd number of teams in both the Grapefruit and Cactus Leagues.
