Amazon has been heavily involved in the sports scene, as the tech giant has aired NFL and WNBA games in recent years. Now, Amazon is set to receive streaming rights to several MLB teams. But which MLB teams are set to have games aired in 2024 on Amazon? Here’s a look at what baseball fans should know.

Major League Baseball on Amazon
Heading into 2024, Amazon has five MLB teams in its portfolio plus a collection of Yankees games.
Thanks to a deal struck between Amazon and Diamond Sports Group in January 2024, the tech giant is set to offer direct-to-consumer streaming for several of the teams that currently have TV deals with Bally Sports.
The deal came amidst Bally Sports’ Chapter 11 bankruptcy and will allow the regional sports network provider to continue operating.
Per the New York Post, Amazon will invest $100MM into Bally Sports and receive streaming rights to the Brewers, Marlins, Rays, Royals, and Tigers. While Bally Sports has TV rights to more than those five teams, those are the only five that Bally Sports had streaming rights to before this deal.
The New York Post reported that MLB fans will need to purchase Prime Video to get access to the games. But as of January 2024, it’s unknown whether there will be additional costs.
Aside from those five teams that are now poised to become part of the Amazon Prime Video portfolio, it’s also important to note that it’s also had a deal with the New York Yankees since 2021.
That season saw 21 games that were shown on WPIX simulcast on Amazon Prime Video. But for the last two seasons, several Yankees games have been aired exclusively on Prime Video in the New York City market.
