Throughout the decade, Sony has made MLB The Show available for both the Xbox and Nintendo platforms. It was a stark contrast from precedent, as MLB The Show was one of Sony’s marquee exclusives. However, the game has never been officially available for PC. Will that change for MLB The Show 26?
Status of MLB The Show 26 on PC
No, MLB The Show 26 will not be available on PC.
When Sony announced the release date and platform information for The Show 26, the development team confirmed that this year’s game will be released for the PlayStation 5, the Xbox Series X|S, and the Nintendo Switch.
That list, however, did not include availability for PC.
Throughout MLB The Show’s history, the game has never been officially made available for desktops and laptops. The Show was a PlayStation-exclusive up to and through MLB The Show 20, until an Xbox version was released in 2021. A year later, the first Nintendo Switch MLB The Show game was released in 2022.
It is, however, worth noting that baseball fans could play the game on a PC from MLB The Show 21 through 25. This is because past games have been available to be streamed to a PC through XCloud. Nonetheless, that is not a standalone version.
Thus, it means that those who are looking for their baseball fix and can’t (or don’t want to) do so on a console will have to look for alternative options.
Super Mega Baseball, MLB games on mobile (MLB Rivals) that can be played on a PC, plus Out of the Park Baseball, are among those options. However, none are exact replicas of The Show.
And for those who are just looking for a baseball fix, the re-released Backyard Baseball games on Steam are also options.
