The 2024 MLB season is on and so is the AL Rookie of the Year race. Several youngsters have already made their MLB debut to begin the 2024 campaign, while other candidates for the award could make this race very interesting. Here’s a look at our initial power rankings for the 2024 AL Rookie of the Year:

Rangers outfielder Wyatt Langford’s looked poised and comfortable thus far, as the 2023 first-round pick notched three RBI and six hits through his first five games. Armed with plus power and good speed, Langford could turn in a 20-20 campaign in his first MLB season and cement himself as a potential front-runner for the Rookie of the Year.
Obviously, this will change as the season progresses. Much of that is because several potential candidates, like Junior Caminero and Jackson Holliday, are in Triple-A to begin 2024. That’s why neither made our initial power rankings.
Once the likes of Holliday and Caminero join their Major League clubs, this list will get interesting. Holliday, in particular, could very well follow in the footsteps of Gunnar Henderson, the 2023 AL Rookie of the Year.
