Here’s a look at our best MLB bets for April 10 (odds via BetMGM New York Sportsbook):
- Seth Lugo over 4.5 strikeouts (+125)
- Braves -0.5 spread in first five innings (-125)
Seth Lugo has yet to throw more than four strikeouts in a start this season, although he’s had two in 2024. On April 10, he’ll face an Astros team that only struck out twice against him on September 9, 2023 — but we still like this pick.
Lugo struck out at least five or more in 18 of 26 starts last season and his breaking stuff makes this a good look, simply because of how low this number is.
As for our second pick, the Braves have several hitters who’ve hit well off starter Jose Quintana. Marcell Ozuna has 10 hits in 24 career plate appearances with a home run off the lefty, while Ozzie Albies has six hits and two home runs.
