The pre-Memorial Day baseball action gets going early thanks to a nationally televised game on Roku, a day that’ll see the conclusion of the Yankees/Padres series, plus Chris Sale looking to continue his dominant May. So, what looks good on the betting front? Here are our best MLB bets for May 26, 2024.

Our best bets for May 26

Here’s a look at our best MLB bets for May 26 (odds via BetMGM New York Sportsbook):

We’ll start with Martin Perez, the Pirates lefty who cruised through the first month before things came crashing down in May. Perez owns an 8.24 ERA and 1.83 WHIP, and it’s not like the veteran lefty’s been unlucky. The 33-year-old conceded eight May home runs before his May 26th start versus Atlanta.

Atlanta isn’t in the top 10 in runs scored, surprising given the Braves’ depth. However, the Braves still have plenty of talent, led by Ronald Acuna Jr., Marcell Ozuna, and Ozzie Albies, to give opposing teams trouble.

As for our second pick, Aaron Brooks will face the Astros for the second time in 11 days. The first time Brooks faced Houston this season, the 34-year-old logged seven innings and gave up three earned runs, thanks to damage done by Kyle Tucker and Yainer Diaz.

Brooks has induced plenty of chases in his brief stint with Oakland this year, to the tune of 38.4%. However, he doesn’t miss many bats.
