We’ve reached the penultimate week of the 2025 college baseball season, meaning there’s not much time to make impressions until the conference tourneys. However, several schools did that this past week, including the traditional SEC powers and one of college baseball’s best success stories over the last decade. Here’s how the rankings stack up after Week 12.

First, here’s the post-Week 12 coaches’ poll rankings, courtesy of USA Today:

  1. Texas
  2. Arkansas (+3)
  3. Florida State (+5)
  4. LSU (-2)
  5. North Carolina (-2)
  6. Georgia (+1)
  7. Oregon (+3)
  8. Auburn (+3)
  9. Clemson (-5)
  10. Vanderbilt (+5)
  11. Oregon State (+1)
  12. Tennessee (-6)
  13. West Virginia
  14. Coastal Carolina (+5)
  15. UC Irvine (-6)
  16. Oklahoma (+5)
  17. UCLA (-3)
  18. Troy (+4)
  19. NC State (-2)
  20. Alabama (-4)
  21. Southern Miss (+2)
  22. Ole Miss (-4)
  23. Arizona (+1)
  24. Louisville (-4)
  25. Dallas Baptist (JUMP)

Kansas was the lone team to fall out of the top-25.

It’s another SEC-dominated list, as expected. Six of the top 10 teams are from the SEC, with Texas staying on top despite getting swept by Arkansas in Fayetteville. The Razorbacks, meanwhile, moved up to #2.

The top-ranked school from the ACC, Florida State, won two of three against Clemson. FSU’s series win was cemented with a 20-9 win on May 4, thanks in part to three hits and four RBI from Alex Lodise.

As for other big movers, Oregon, Auburn, and Vanderbilt moved into the top 10.

The Ducks couldn’t hit Joseph Dzierwa, as the lefty shut out Oregon in East Lansing on May 2. Oregon rebounded and won the next two games and the series.

Auburn took two of three from Tennessee in Knoxville, while Vanderbilt took two of three from Alabama. The Commodores have a difficult week ahead, with a road game in Louisville before three with the Volunteers.

Oklahoma, meanwhile, moved to #16 after a series win at home against Ole Miss. The Sooners have two more SEC series, one in Lexington against Kentucky, followed by three against #1 Texas. And for those keeping track, Kyson Witherspoon is up to 100 strikeouts after he picked up eight more against the Rebels.

Coastal Carolina, meanwhile, moved to #14 after a three-game sweep of Appalachian State to move to 20-4 in Sun Belt play. The Chanticleers will face a stiff test against #9 Clemson on May 6, a team Coastal beat in Clemson earlier this season.

The Chanticleers don’t have an intimidating offense, as just three of their regulars are batting over .300. However, one of those players is Caden Bodine, the junior catcher who could be a Day 1 pick come July.

Potential 2025 MLB Draft pick Jacob Morrison and Cameron Flukey, a possible Day 1 pick in 2026, have led the charge on the mound. Morrison has 68 strikeouts on the year, while Flukey recorded 72 over his first 66.2 IP.
