The sixth weekend of the 2025 Division I college baseball season ended on March 23. It was a wild weekend, one that saw SEC titans go toe-to-toe in Austin & Tuscaloosa. Several teams jumped into the top-25 but the top remains unchanged yet again.

UC Santa Barbara, Virginia, West Virginia, and Coastal Carolina fell out of the top-25.
ETSU — who are fourth in the NCAA in SLG (.594) — became the first school to take down defending champion Tennessee, as the Volunteers fell in extras on March 18 to snap their 21-game winning streak. Tennesse lost again on March 20 to Alabama before taking the next two to win the series in Tuscaloosa.
Liam Doyle had a rare tough outing on the 18th, as the lefty gave up four walks and six hits against Alabama. Doyle did strike out nine, keeping him in a tie with FAU pitcher Trey Beard for most strikeouts (62) in Division I.
SEC rival LSU, meanwhile, fell down four spots after losing their weekend series against Texas. The Tigers received yet another strong start from Kade Anderson, the lefty who’s tied with Wake Forest pitcher Logan Lunceford for fourth-most in strikeouts (56) in Division I. Anderson struck out eight over six strong innings.
Max Belyeu drove in four in Texas’ 6-2 victory against LSU on March 23.
In other SEC-related news, Vanderbilt shot up six spots after sweeping the Texas A&M Aggies. A&M is now down to 11-12 on the season.
Florida, meanwhile, was swept for the second-straight weekend, this time to Georgia. The Gators’ weekend ended on a rough note, as Florida was blown out 32-6 over the final two games of the series. The Bulldogs, thanks in part by seven hits from Christian Adams over the last two games, move up to #3.
Sticking to the Georgia theme, the Yellow Jackets swept the Notre Dame Fighting Irish to move into the top-25. Georgia Tech is currently sixth in Division I in SLG (.565). The team has received significant contributions not just from Drew Burress but also Kent Schmidt and Carson Kerce, both of whom are batting over .400.
Augusta University transfer Kyle Lodise currently leads the team in home runs (9).
It’s worth noting that Georgia Tech faced two softer teams in Notre Dame and Pittsburgh to begin ACC play. The Yellow Jackets will get a stiff test against Clemson this weekend.
More good news came for the Georgia Tech baseball program this weekend, as former GT standout Kristian Campbell will reportedly be on the Red Sox’s Opening Day roster.
