We move into the second full week of both the 2025 fantasy baseball and MLB seasons. The first week saw some big-time notable risers — a few of whom we highlighted a few days ago. So, which undervalued hitters are good to target heading into Week 2 of 2025? Here’s a look at five.

Best Week 2 hitters to target

First off, a review of our Week 1 targets. No, Wilyer Abreu, who exploded over Week 1, was not on it. However, four of the five had big weeks.

Maikel Garcia batted .345 and belted a pair of home runs. Victor Scott II hit .281 (as of 4/6) and stole four bases, while Ben Rice batted .320 with two home runs. And, Kristian Campbell earned himself a permanent stint in Boston.

Getting back to Week 2, I’ll start with Brendan Donovan. Donovan is one of the best bat-to-ball hitters in the game, as he’s never posted a batting average lower than .270 or a K% higher than 15% in a season. Thus far, he’s batting .314 with two home runs and seven RBI.

Oh, and did I mention he can play multiple positions.

Next up is Hunter Goodman, a former fourth-round pick who’s playing and hitting. Goodman hit .313 in March before cooling off but is still worth a grab. For one, he should be eligible for catcher and outfielder in leagues. Two, high bat speed (75.6 MPH), which may lead to a high strikeout number.

But, the power in Coors Field is tantalizing.

Next up is two shortstops, one a household name and the other not so much.

Trevor Story is healthy and that’s good for Boston, whose offense is clicking early on. Story already has two home runs and two stolen bases and woke up from an early-season slump by hitting .300.

Then, there’s Jacob Wilson. Wilson was a name I mentioned as a deep sleeper this past February — but has been anything but thus far. The Athletics shortstop batted .351 with two home runs over his first nine games. Both of his home runs came over the last week.

Do not expect much more power from Wilson, who possesses some of the lowest bat speed (63.2 MPH average in 2025) in the Majors. However, that hit tool is too good to pass up.

Lastly, Kyle Manzardo continues to hit well after he posted a .540 SLG over the last month of 2024. Manzardo had three home runs and nine RBI, the latter of which leads Cleveland, over his first nine games.
