There were only six games on May 15, meaning news on the injury front was light. However, the news doesn’t stop in Major League Baseball. A major collision in Baltimore caused two Twins to leave the game, while Ronald Acuna Jr. continued his rehab in Triple-A.
Buxton & Correa hurt in Baltimore
The Twins won their 11th game in a row on May 15, as Minnesota swept the Baltimore for the second time in a week. However, Byron Buxton — who hit a home run on the 15th — and Carlos Correa didn’t finish out the game.
The two collided in the outfield during the third inning going for a ball eventually caught by Buxton. Both were removed from the game, with Correa being pulled immediately. Buxton stayed in after the play but didn’t come out for the fourth inning.
The team said that both were put into concussion protocol.
Updates on Braves’ injuries
The Braves confirmed Spencer Strider will return from the injured list to start against the Nationals next week. He threw 65 pitches in a simulated game on May 14.
As for Ronald Acuna Jr., the former NL MVP had his rehab shifted to Gwinnett (AAA) on the 15th. He played six innings for the Stripers, much like on May 14, and played right field. Acuna Jr. went 2-3 before coming out for Conner Capel.
Other injury news
