Los Angeles beat the Pirates 9-2 on April 27, as Ben Casparius helped piece together innings for the Dodgers. That was necessitated after Tyler Glasnow only lasted one inning against the team that drafted him.
Glasnow leaves start on April 27
The Dodgers had Tyler Glasnow for only one inning on April 27 against the right-hander’s former team. Glasnow gave up two runs and two hits in the first inning before he left with what was described as shoulder discomfort.
Glasnow told the media after the game he’s been dealing with shoulder soreness of late, and he attributes it to a delivery change.
Manager Dave Roberts said it’s possible Glasnow hits the injured list, which would leave the Dodgers without another pitcher. Blake Snell, Tony Gonsolin, and Clayton Kershaw are also on the injured list.
Rehab assignments
It was a busy day for rehab assignments.
Mets infielder Ronny Mauricio, who missed all of 2024 after sustaining a torn ACL in winter ball, went 1-3 with a run scored on April 27 for St. Lucie (A).

Spencer Horwitz, who hasn’t played with the Pirates yet, started a rehab assignment with Altoona (AA on the 27th. Ironically, Horwitz faced a fellow rehabbing player, in Orioles pitcher Chayce McDermott. Horwitz went 1-2 with a walk.
Connor Wong, with Worcester (AAA), went 2-4 with a run batted in during the first game of the team’s doubleheader against Syracuse.
