The 2025 World Series will begin on October 24, and there were some injury-related notes to take away from the eve of the best-of-seven showdown. Bo Bichette continued to work out before Game 1 — but on the right side of the infield. Additionally, Dodgers reliever Tanner Scott, eligible for the World Series after being removed from the NLDS roster, spoke on his recovery.

Bichette working out ahead of World Series

The Blue Jays have not confirmed Bo Bichette‘s status for the World Series as of October 23. However, Bichette was working out in the infield before Game 1.

Bichette was taking reps at second base, a position he has not played at as a Major Leaguer. The 27-year-old started a small number of games at second base throughout his Minor League career, as many as 14 back with Lansing (A) in 2017.

Blue Jays manager John Schneider stated that if Bichette is on the roster, he could see time at second base, shortstop, or at DH. Toronto has used former Gold Glover Andres Gimenez at short while Bichette was injured.

Scott on recovery

Dodgers relief pitcher Tanner Scott told Spectrum Sportsnet Los Angeles that he feels good heading into the World Series.

Scott resumed throwing after his abscess operation. The left-hander stated earlier in the week that he was dealing with an infection.

It should also be noted that the Dodgers, right now, are without Alex Vesia. Vesia is away from the team on a personal matter.

Lindor had elbow surgery

The Mets announced on October 22 that Francisco Lindor had right elbow debridement surgery. Lindor is expected to ready for the start of the 2026 season.

The 31-year-old slashed .267/.346/.466 (.812 OPS) with 31 home runs and 31 stolen bases this season. It was the second time in three years that Lindor posted a 30-30 campaign.
