There are just two teams left in the American League: the Mariners and Blue Jays. Both teams finalized their rosters on October 12, with some important notes. Bo Bichette is not on the Jays’ roster, while Bryan Woo is for the Mariners.

Bichette not on ALCS roster

The Blue Jays left Bo Bichette off the team’s ALCS roster. It was one of several notable decisions made by the team, as the Jays also opted to leave Tommy Nance and Justin Bruihl off for starters Max Scherzer and Chris Bassitt.

Bichette was a question mark for the Championship Series, despite him saying last week that he was optimistic for a return.

However, Sportsnet (CA) shot video of him running the bases during workouts yesterday. He stopped in stride after landing on second base (video) and began to shake his head, indicating some sort of discomfort.

Bichette has been out since early September with a knee sprain.

Woo on ALCS roster

The Mariners, meanwhile, get ace Bryan Woo back for the ALCS.

Woo was included on Seattle’s ALCS roster. Additionally, the Mariners will also carry Miles Mastrobuoni, keeping Luke Raley off the team’s roster against the Blue Jays.

The right-hander hasn’t pitched since the back half of September after suffering a pectoral injury.

Torres to require sports hernia surgery

Detroit was eliminated from the playoffs during a 15-inning thriller on October 12, at the hands of the Mariners. Additionally, some injury-related news came out regarding Gleyber Torres.

Torres stated that he’ll need sports hernia surgery this offseason. The 2025 All-Star stated that he’s been hurt for the last few weeks.

The 28-year-old, who signed a one-year deal with Detroit last December, had an up-and-down 2025. Torres slashed just .223/.320/.329 (.659 OPS) in the second half after recording a .812 OPS in the first.
