Guerrero Jr. & Ramirez leave game
The Blue Jays and Guardians finished their series on June 26. And, it was an eventful one, from an injury standpoint, as both Jose Ramirez and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. exited with injuries.
Ramirez exited after he has hit on his right forearm by a 95 MPH fastball by Kevin Gausman.
One inning earlier, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was hit on the forearm with a pitch from Tanner Bibee. Guerrero Jr., who was hit by a pitch for the second straight game, exited in the fourth inning.
Both players underwent X-rays, which came back negative.
Nootbaar out with side injury
Lars Nootbaar missed the Cardinals’ game on June 26, the second straight contest he didn’t play. St. Louis indicated why Nootbaar missed back-to-back games.
Nootbaar is dealing with side soreness, per the team. He received a shot to alleive the injury.
St. Louis’ outfield isn’t exactly short-handed, as several natural infielders, like Alec Burleson and Brendan Donovan, have outfield experience. Donovan played in left during the Cardinals’ game on the 26th. Nonetheless, it is another injury the Cardinals must navigate.
Earlier this week, the Cardinals placed Jordan Walker on the 10-day IL after an appendectomy. Walker is expected to be back soon.
