One of the trademark series of cards in MLB The Show 25 has been the Prime Series, dedicated to highlighting a year where a specific player could be considered to excel in their — well, prime. On June 27, SDS added the Prime Series Program, a dedicated program adding more of these cards to Diamond Dynasty. And, those who collected enough can get two high-end Diamond rewards.

How to make progress

Now, a look at the different tasks for the Prime Program:

  • Complete eight Moments (40 pts. – 5 pts. each)
  • Prime Series Missions:
    • Tally 10 innings pitched with Prime Series pitchers (5 pts.)
    • Tally 20 strikeouts with Prime Series pitchers (5 pts.)
    • Tally 20 hits with Prime Series hitters (5 pts.)
    • Tally 10 extra-base hits with Prime Series players (5 pts.)
    • Tally five home runs with Prime Series players (5 pts.)
  • Stat Missions:
    • Tally 22 innings pitched with any pitchers (5 pts.)
    • Tally 20 stolen bases with any players (5 pts.)
    • Tally 38 strikeouts with any pitchers (5 pts.)
    • Tally 32 hits with any players (5 pts.)
    • Tally nine home runs with any players (5 pts.)
  • PXP Missions:
    • Tally 1,000 PXP with Prime Series players (5 pts.) (REPEATABLE)
    • Tally 350 PXP with Prime Jesse Chavez (5 pts.)
    • Tally 350 PXP with Prime Mike Cameron (5 pts.)
    • Tally 500 PXP with Prime Charlie Morton (5 pts.)
    • Tally 350 PXP with Prime Salvador Perez (5 pts.)
  • OPTIONAL Prime Series Collection programs:
    • Collect 93 OVR Jim Kaat, Michael Young, & Tommy Pham (30 pts.)
    • Collect 95 OVR Jason Varitek & Terry Pendleton (70 pts.)

Unless otherwise specified, the missions can be completed in either single-player or online game modes. Showdowns & Moments are excluded.

A good rule of thumb: do the missions to get Chavez & Cameron. Then, starting teeing off on the stat missions.

These tasks have been modified since its launch. When it did, only 90 Star Points could be obtained through the Moments & Missions. Thus, one of the two optional collections were required.

Prime Collection

Additionally, there are two collection rewards for acquiring Prime Series cards. Those two are 95 OVR Ian Kinsler & 96 OVR Lance Berkman.

Ian Kinsler

95 Kinsler

Lance Berkman

96 Berkman

Eight Prime Series players are needed to unlock Kinsler, while 16 are needed for Berkman.

So, where are Prime Series cards located? Here’s a look:

  • Prime Collection: 1 (Kinsler)
  • Live Series Collection: 1 (Kipnis)
  • Program: 5
  • Pack: 10

This collection is important, as the 96 OVR Berkman will likely be needed for the next Legends & Flashbacks Collection, per precedent.
