Well, this is it. It’s the final week of the 2026 MLB regular season, as well as the fantasy baseball campaign. Given that so many players have been shut down due to injury over the past few days and weeks, this is a very difficult time to navigate. But there are plenty of options for replacements, including rookies Hao-Yu and George Lombard Jr., and a breakout hitter from San Diego.

Best Week 25 hitters to target

• OF Dustin Harris (Padres)
• INF Hao-Yu Lee (Tigers)
• INF George Lombard Jr. (Yankees)
• OF Jakob Marsee (Marlins)
• SS Dansby Swanson (Cubs)

Perhaps the most surprising player from a fantasy perspective over these past days is Dustin Harris, the 27-year-old who will enter play on September 22 with a 10-game hitting streak. Between September 11 and 19, Harris led the Majors in RBI (12), tied for third in hits (14), and tied for eighth in runs scored (8).

At a time when it is all hands on deck, having hot hitters down the stretch is important. With Harris, he’s playing well & playing every day.

Hao-Yu Lee is another hot hitter, as he entered play on the 20th with a 1.092 OPS over his last seven games. Lee had three multi-hit games during that stretch, plus two home runs and eight RBI.

Jakob Marsee had three multi-hit contests during the first two legs of Miami’s three-city road trip. He came into play on the 20th batting .356 with four home runs over the last month, making good use of the final few weeks in what was a down 2026 campaign.

George Lombard Jr. had another multi-hit contest on September 20 versus the Diamondbacks. The rookie Yankee shortstop had two home runs and a hit in all but one of the club’s six road games during their trip through Minnesota and Arizona.

Lastly, Dansby Swanson is back and hit upon his return to action after being activated off the IL this past week. Swanson had three hits in two games in Cincinnati, one of which was his 19th home run of the season.

A very nice return for Swanson, who was supposed to rehab with Triple-A Iowa earlier this week before rain scuttled that idea.

Overview of Week 24

We told you to pick Josh Jung during our Week 24 target list…and we hope you listened.

Jung had six hits in the last week, two of which were home runs. He’s back in prime form, and just in time for the final week of the regular season.

Brett Bateman keeps on hitting, as the rookie outfielder had seven hits over the last week between the Blue Jays’ series against the Tigers and Rangers. Bateman also scored six runs and remains a valuable resource just on those two tools alone.

The hit parade also continued for TJ Rumfield, who continued to be one of baseball’s most underrated fantasy assets. Rumfield had three multi-hit games in Coors Field this past week.
