We’re at the end of the 2026 fantasy baseball season — but the job is not done just yet. There’s still one more week left to get things done, whether it be for a top-three finish in roto or going for it all in H2H. So, with Week 25, here’s a look at five pitchers to target.

- SP Daniel Lynch IV (Royals)
- SP Zebby Matthews (Twins)
- SP Jared Jones (Pirates)
- SP Michael Soroka (Diamondbacks)
- SP Walbert Urena (Angels)
This is a very difficult week to navigate, historically. Teams will shut down pitchers to protect them for the following year, while others will throw out pitchers in limited outings to gear up for the playoffs.
Or, in the case of Trey Yesavage, have him pitch in limited work on the 21st given that he’s not fully built up.
So, creativity will be key here.
Jared Jones has been spectacular since the start of September. The Pirates right-hander struck out 26 over 18 innings, posted a sub-2.00 ERA, and has been, arguably, the club’s best pitcher in that span. He’ll get Andre Pallante & the Cardinals on the 22nd.
Zebby Matthews pitched his best baseball at the right time. Matthews punched out 30 over his last 34 innings, along with a sub-1.00 WHIP and 3.15 ERA. The home run ball has been a problem for him at times. The right-hander will try to cull that against the Giants in San Francisco.
Walbert Urena’s been fantastic all season, aside from his walk problems. Urena’s stuff is built well for a road matchup against the A’s on September 23.
Soroka was on our Week 24 list, one that was very good for him. Soroka struck out six over five innings and allowed one run against the Marlins. However, he wasn’t able to pick up a win in a game that Arizona lost in extras to Miami.
The one real wild card on this list is Daniel Lynch IV, who struck out just six batters over 15 innings across his last three outings. Aside from the K/9, his numbers since August 15 (12 K, 4.05 ERA, 1.16 WHIP over 26 IP) aren’t terrible. He’ll get the White Sox on the 22nd.
Overview of Week 24
Griffin Jax was a star this week, to say the least. Jax struck out 12 over 10 innings across two starts, not allowing an earned run and picking up a win.
Quinn Mathews was one of two pitchers from the Cardinals on our Week 24 list. For Mathews, he struck out 11 over 13.2 IP, won one game, and tossed two quality starts.
Andre Pallante, meanwhile, allowed six earned runs in a rough outing against the Giants. It also wasn’t a good week for Casey Mize, who surrendered five earned runs at home against the Marlins.
