If you’re still in it, whether it’s an H2H, points, or roto league, congratulations. For those who need some more pitching help as Week 24 of the 2026 fantasy baseball season starts up on September 14, here’s a look at five pitchers worth targeting on the waiver wire.

Best Week 24 pitchers to target

• SP Quinn Mathews (Cardinals)
• SP Casey Mize (Padres)
• SP Andre Pallante (Cardinals)
• SP Michael Soroka (D-Backs)

With a wounded Giants team going to St. Louis for three games this week, taking two Cardinals for fantasy this week might not be a bad idea.

Andre Pallante didn’t notch a win on September 9, a game that the Cardinals lost 7-6. However, he pitched well against the Giants, as he struck out four over five innings and allowed just one earned run. He’ll get the Giants again on September 15.

Mathews, meanwhile, delivered a quality start on the 8th against the Giants. The left-hander struck out four over six innings, allowing just two earned runs. He continued what has been a really good run, as Mathews struck out 15 over 16 and posted a 2.16 ERA across his last three starts.

He’ll face San Francisco on September 14.

The Rays welcome the Athletics for a series beginning on September 15, and Griffin Jax is the scheduled start for Tampa Bay. Jax did enough to win on the 9th against the Braves, allowing just one run over five innings. On paper, a banged-up Athletics team is a good matchup, although Shea Langeliers is back for the A’s.

Both Casey Mize and Walker Buehler are options this week, as the Padres are headed to Colorado and will face the Rockies. It’s been an up-and-down past few weeks for Mize, although he did strike out seven in his last start against the Nationals.

Lastly, Michael Soroka will start against the Marlins on the 15th. Soroka, in his start since August 22, got to 58 pitches against the Royals back on September 9. He struck out four and allowed three earned runs.

Overview of Week 23

Andrew Painter, on our Week 23 list, rebounded nicely on the 13th with five good innings against the Braves. He didn’t get a win. But he was able to make up for what was a tough outing against the Astros earlier this week.

It was the near-opposite for Hayden Wesneski, who faced Painter in Philly. The right-hander picked up the win on the road back on September 8 but was hit around against the Rays in his second start of the week.

Jake Bennett had a disappointing go of it on September 9, as he struck out two and allowed six earned runs against the Angels.

Davis Martin allowed just one earned run in his lone start against the Pirates.
