With three months in the books this season, we know a lot about what we’ve seen, and what some need to improve on over the second half. Across the last week, some players have turned the narrative around — while others have not.

Risers

Dansby Swanson flipped the script on what’s been a tough 2026 season at the plate this past week. Swanson had 15 RBI over the last week, all of which came against the Mets in Citi Field. However, Swanson started to turn the corner before then, as he had four hits and three RBI in the three games before the Cubs’ road trip started.

Meanwhile, up in Wisconsin, Brewers catcher William Contreras has started his yearly summer outbreak. Three home runs and 10 total hits over five games this past week. Contreras is now third among catchers in total RBI (50), behind only Liam Hicks and Dillon Dingler.

Two 2023 MLB Draft picks, Dylan Crews & Wyatt Langford, have been scorching hot. Langford, who’s missed a good amount of time this season, had three home runs and nine hits. Crews, meanwhile, had nine hits of his own.

As for the pitchers, Jake Bennett’s stuff has started to turn into MLB production. Twelve strikeouts over 12.1 IP over the last week, and what’s more, a .73 ERA. Bennett’s pitch arsenal and ability to throw strikes made him an intriguing grab last November. Now, the Sox have yet another promising lefty at the big league level.

Nathan Eovaldi, meanwhile, struck out a league-high 18 batters over 13 innings. He also picked up two wins, which probably helped out weekly league players a lot — or not, depending on what side he was on.

Fallers

Jarren Duran’s tough 2026 season continued this past week, as the Red Sox outfielder hit .087 (2-23) with eight strikeouts over six contests. He’s still on pace for a 20-20 season. But, with a .198 season average, that can put a significant toll on fantasy players, particularly ones in roto leagues.

George Springer (.143 AVG, eight strikeouts over five games) is still in the midst of a hard run, while James Wood struck out 13 times over the last week.

Brice Turang, meanwhile, went 5-22 with nine strikeouts over the last week. Normally, that kind of production wouldn’t be alarming on its own. And, overall, it hasn’t been a bad month for Turang, as he hit four home runs in June heading into the 27th. However, Turang had 33 strikeouts over his first 22 contests in June.

Lastly, Shane Bieber was hit hard in his 2026 MLB debut, highlighted by back-to-back-to-back home runs from the Astros. Gerrit Cole’s 8.38 ERA over the last week raised his June ERA to 4.06.
