So, who’s hot heading into the 2026 All-Star Game break? Well, several rookies are going into it on high notes, as is one of the eight sluggers in the 2026 Home Run Derby. However, one of the other big bats in it is in the midst of a significant slump. Here’s our list of Week 15 risers & fallers.
Risers
- 2B/OF A.J. Ewing (Mets)
- 1B/3B Curtis Mead (Nationals)
- SP Eury Perez (Marlins)
- 1B Ben Rice (Yankees)
- SP Joe Ryan (Twins)
- 1B/OF Esmerlyn Valdez (Pirates)
Forget about the fact that Eury Perez was removed after seven perfect innings for a second. Perez has quietly put together a strong run over the last month. Across his last four starts, Perez struck out 23 over his last 23 innings, along with a 1.57 ERA. While Max Meyer has taken up the spotlight — and deservedly so — this season in Miami, Perez is rounding into the form he showed pre-surgery.
As for the hitters, Ben Rice had a mammoth week. Five home runs over seven games to lead the league, along with 11 hits to tie the league lead.
Curtis Mead, at 10, was not too far behind.
The Pirates, meanwhile, have one of the finest hot-hitting rookies at the moment, as Esmerlyn Valdez hit four home runs over six games, plus nine total RBI. He’s going to strike out a lot but that can be lived with given his pop.
Moving on to two other rookies, it’s a fine time for A.J. Ewing and Carson Benge. Benge, over the last week, batted over .350 and stole a league-high four bases. Ewing, meanwhile, racked up 11 hits and three home runs.
Fallers
- SS Willy Adames (Giants)
- OF Corbin Carroll (Diamondbacks)
- SP MacKenzie Gore (Rangers)
- 1B Bryce Harper (Phillies)
- SS Francisco Lindor (Mets)
- SP Hurston Waldrep (Braves)
An 0-19 stretch for Bryce Harper will get him put on this part of the list. Granted, it’s a small window in what has been a very good year for the Phillies’ first baseman. Nonetheless, it is a cold spell. Harper isn’t the only Phillie in a slump heading into the break, as Alec Bohm went two for his last 21 over the last week.
Willy Adames (3-25) and Francisco Lindor (3-24) have also had tough weeks. For Lindor, it’s been a grind to get going since he returned from the injured list. Over his first 15 games back, Lindor slashed .179/.258/.321 with a pair of home runs.
As for pitchers, MacKenzie Gore & Hurston Waldrep were both hit very hard this past week.
