It’s been a tough couple of seasons for Francisco Alvarez, who’s suffered several hand injuries. But on May 12, Alvarez had to leave the Mets’ game against Detroit thanks to a different injury. His former teammate, Brandon Nimmo, suffered another injury, as well.
Alvarez leaves game
Mets catcher Francisco Alvarez came out of the team’s game against the Tigers after he suffered a right knee injury during a swing.
Per the Mets, he will undergo an MRI on May 13.
Nimmo hurt
Brandon Nimmo left the Rangers’ game against the D-Backs on May 12 with an ankle injury.
Nimmo was trying to beat out an infield single when he stepped on first base awkwardly. He hobbled up the first-base line afterwards, before he was eventually removed from the contest.
Acuna Jr. not ready to return
Braves manager Walt Weiss indicated that outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. will need “some time” before he is ready to return from the injured list.
Acuna Jr. suffered a hamstring strain earlier in the month and is eligible to return on the 13th.
