The Dodgers saw Kyle Tucker and Dalton Rushing come out of the team’s game on June 22, not exactly great news given that Teoscar Hernandez and Will Smith are on the IL. And as for the Astros, a hamstring injury forced Jeremy Pena out against the Blue Jays.
Tucker removed
Dodgers outfielder Kyle Tucker was removed early during the team’s game on June 22 with back spasms. It came after Tucker advanced to second base in the second inning and was then seen wincing after he bent down.
Additionally, Dodgers catcher Dalton Rushing was removed & put into concussion protocol after he took a foul ball off his mask. Manager Dave Roberts indicated that Rushing passed concussion tests.
Pena pulled vs. Blue Jays
A banged-up Astros team took another hit on June 22, albeit a minor one at the moment.
Jeremy Pena was pulled during the sixth against the Blue Jays with what was described as a right hamstring cramp.
Witt Jr. doing baseball activities
Bobby Witt Jr. remained out on June 22 against the Royals.
However, manager Matt Quatraro indicated that Witt Jr. did some hitting in the cage and also fielded ground balls before the team’s game versus the Rays.
IL moves
Mickey Moniak (Rockies), Brock Stewart (Dodgers), Kyle Teel (White Sox), Pierce Johnson (Reds), Jorge Soler (Angels), Brandon Woodruff (Brewers), and Kyle Backhus (Phillies) were activated off the injured list.
Rehab notes
Blue Jays infielder Lenyn Sosa went 0-3 with a strikeout for the team’s FCL affiliate.
The Mets are expected to send Francisco Lindor to Triple-A on June 23, per manager Carlos Mendoza.
Other notes
Twins pitcher Joe Ryan (illness) is no longer listed as the team’s scheduled starter for June 23.
Blue Jays reliever Yimi Garcia (elbow) has been shut down from throwing.
