It was a busy day across Major League Baseball on Father’s Day, one that saw both the Marlins and Tigers continue winning streaks. The Cardinals, meanwhile, saw JJ Wetherholt have a big day against their cross-state rival.

Marlins sweep San Francisco

Logan Webb pitched a complete game for the Giants and limited the Marlins to two runs on June 21. Unfortunately, that wasn’t enough to topple the Marlins, who moved to 40-38 on the season after another victory.

Kyle Stowers belted a solo shot in the second to give Miami a 1-0 lead. Two innings later, an Otto Lopez double drove in Stowers, which ultimately was the game-winning run.

Miami’s bullpen tossed 4.2 scoreless innings.

Wetherholt’s two home runs lead STL

Eight home runs and 22 total runs were scored in Kansas City during a game that ultimately ended in a 12-10 victory for the Cardinals.

JJ Wetherholt hit two home runs, both of which came in the first two innings of the game. Masyn Winn hit a first-inning homer off pitcher Stephen Kolek, who gave up nine earned runs in 1.2 IP for Kansas City.

As for the Royals’ offense, Carter Jensen went deep for his 10th of 2026, and Jac Caglianone hit two home runs to push the second-year Major League to 12. Dustin May only lasted two innings after he tossed a complete-game shutout earlier in the week.

Tigers sweep Chicago

The Tigers pushed two runs across in the 10th, one from Spencer Torkelson and the other from Matt Vierling, to win against the White Sox.

Both Keider Montero and Davis Martin pitched well for their respective teams. But up 3-1 heading into the bottom of the eighth, Dillon Dingler stole the show. Dingler hit a solo home run in the eighth and then drove in another run via a single one inning later to tie it up in Detroit.

Gilbert excellent for Seattle

Logan Gilbert struck out eight over 6.1 strong innings for the Mariners, as Seattle won 3-1 on June 22.

Dominic Canzone hit his 12th home run of the season, a solo shot off Payton Tolle.

Phillies win on Sunday Night

The Phillies took the final game of their series with the Mets, 6-2.

Bryce Harper and Kyle Schwarber went deep for the second straight night, one day after their historic day together. Schwarber is up to 29 home runs.

Zack Wheeler struck out seven over 5.2 IP to pick up a win over his old team.
