With the final day of the regular season on deck, several playoff-bound teams called up innings eaters on September 27. And to bring back a potent arm, Jose Urquidy was DFA’d by the Phillies.

The Phillies designated pitcher Jose Urquidy for assignment.

That move cleared a roster spot for Jesús Luzardo, who was activated off the injured list. He was a logical casualty, as Urquidy tossed 2.2 IP and allowed three runs on September 26 against the Rays.

Austin Peterson (Guardians), Jefry Yan (Mets), Jesse Scholtens (Rays), Cam Cauley (Rangers), Nate Eaton (Red Sox), Raynel Delgado (Astros), Bobby Miller (Dodgers), Braxton Garrett (Cubs), Wyatt Olds (Red Sox), and Noah Murdock (Pirates) were recalled from the Minors.

Evan Sisk (Pirates), Logan O’Hoppe (Rangers), Craig Yoho (Guardians), Ronel Blanco (Astros), Gavin Hollowell (Cubs), Jedixson Paez (Red Sox), Ty Johnson (Rays), and Brant Hurter (Tigers) were optioned.
