On January 21, the Blue Jays announced which prospects would join the big leaguers in 2026 Spring Training down in Dunedin, Florida. Toronto’s list includes former first-round pick Arjun Nimmala, as well as Gage Stanifer, the latter of whom is one of the system’s best pitching prospects.
The prospects
Several of the Blue Jays’ top hitting prospects will be in camp, including 2023 first-round pick Arjun Nimmala.
Nimmala didn’t hit for as much power in 2025, compared to what he did in Dunedin two years ago. One year after he recorded 16 home runs and 40 extra-base hits for the D-Blue Jays, Nimmala slashed .224/.313/.381 with 13 home runs and 45 extra-base hits over 120 games. Additionally, he tallied 13 stolen bases.
The 20-year-old struck out a lot in Low-A two years ago. That wasn’t, though, the case in 2025. Nimmala posted a sub-30% Whiff% with the Canadians. However, he also finished just outside the top-third in the league in terms of GB% (43.1%).
Aside from Nimmala, the list includes some other notable bats in the system. Sean Keys, the Northwest League leader in walks, will be joined by Josh Kasevich, Cutter Coffey, Josh Rivera, Charles McAdoo, and RJ Schreck.
McAdoo, a non-roster invite last spring, hit 16 home runs and 41 extra-base hits for the Fisher Cats last season, along with 34 stolen bases. As we noted in our Blue Jays 2025 farm review, there was a lot of swing-and-miss in his game last season.
The same can be said for Tirotta, who ranked in the bottom-25 of that stat (35.0%) among Triple-A hitters last season (min. 400 swings).
Catchers Geovanny Planchart, Robert Brooks, Edward Duran, and Aaron Parker are also part of the list.
The list also includes one left-handed pitcher, Javen Coleman, plus seven right-handed pitchers.
We’ll start with Coleman, a former LSU pitcher who was drafted by the Dodgers in 2023 but returned to school in 2024. Toronto signed him a year later and possibly found a steal, as Coleman struck out 85 over 54 innings between Low-A and High-A. As we noted in our Northwest League numbers recap, Coleman had the second-best Whiff% (41.1%).

Coleman can run his fastball up to 96-97 MPH, and pair it with a slider and changeup, the latter of which ran in the low-80s while he was in Dunedin to start the year.
Aside from Coleman, two other big swing-and-miss pitchers from Vancouver will be in camp, reliever Chay Yeager and starter Gage Stanifer.
Stanifer was one of Toronto’s big breakout stars in 2025. The right-hander, drafted out of high school in 2024, blew through Low-A Dunedin in seven outings, then followed that up with 115 strikeouts over 76 frames. He finished 2025 with Double-A New Hampshire.

For Stanifer, it’s a 94-97 MPH fastball, along with a big, low-80s breaking ball and a mid-to-high-80s changeup.
Chad Dallas, Fernando Perez, and Ryan Jennings were also invited to camp, as was CJ Van Eyk.
Other notables
The Blue Jays previously announced that Eloy Jimenez, Michael Plassmeyer, Rafael Lantigua, Carlos Mendoza, and Jorge Alcala would be in camp as non-roster invitees.
Additionally, reliever Yariel Rodriguez will also be among the non-roster invite group headed to Dunedin. Rodriguez was DFA’d and outrighted to the Minors earlier in the winter.
