Tarik Skubal, Ketel Marte Go Diamond in First MLB The Show 24 Ratings Update

On April 26, the first post-launch ratings update for MLB The Show 24 went live. The update highlighted some of the game’s most prolific performers over the first month of the 2024 season, with six players going Diamond in Diamond Dynasty.

Tarik Skubal (85 OVR), Corbin Burnes (85 OVR), William Contreras (85 OVR), Ketel Marte (85 OVR), Tyler Glasnow (85 OVR), and Josh Naylor (86 OVR) all went from Gold to Diamond. All players, aside from Skubal and Glasnow, received a +1.

Skubal is off to a flying start, as the lefty struck out 35 over 29.2 IP and walked just five over the first month. Contreras, as of April 26, owned a 1.019 OPS at the dish.

Among the players who were downgraded from Diamond to Gold in the April 26 ratings update in MLB The Show 24 include Blake Snell (-2, 83 OVR) and Bo Bichette (-3, 82 OVR)

Other notable changes in the April 26 update included raises for Mookie Betts (+3, 94 OVR) and Fernando Tatis Jr. (+3, 91 OVR) and downgrades for Aaron Judge (-3, 90 OVR), Ronald Acuna Jr. (-2, 91 OVR), and Corbin Carroll (-2, 85 OVR).

Judge entered play on April 26 with a .693 OPS, while Acuna Jr. has just one home run on the season. The reigning NL MVP hit 41 last season with the Braves.

Reed Garrett (+13, 70 OVR) received the highest overall boost, while Cubs rookie Michael Busch (+9, 75 OVR) was the position player who jumped up the most. Astros first baseman Jose Abreu (-6, 71 OVR) received the lowest downgrade among position players.

In addition to the ratings update, the MLB The Show 24 team added a new Mets City Connect Conquest and The Show Classics Program on the 26th. The latter includes a 95 OVR Cody Bellinger.
